2011/2012

2011 has been a very exciting year for me, so much has happend for my friends and me and I’m grateful for all of it.
There are things coming up in 2012 which I’m looking foward to:
In January my trio will be a featured guest of the NDR Bigband im Hamburg. My good friend Niels Klein< is going to arrange my music for this great band. The resulting concert will take place on January 20th 2012 at Studio 1 at the NDR in Hamburg.
Apart from that we be on tour with the trio in central-asia and southamerika with help of the german Goethe Institute.
Also some of our trio concerts in germany will be recorded – our next cd will be a live-cd!
Sideman activities during the next year include cd-productions with saxophone player Denis Gäbel , guitarist Paolo Thorsen-Nagel from basel and also Tobias Christl Lieblingsband an.
Previous recordings by Bastian Stein, Niels Klein, Benjamin Garcia & Max Frankl are already in the can and waiting to be released.

Pablo Held receives WDR jazzprice 2011

I’m very excited to announce, that I will receive the WDR jazzprize 2011 in the category “Improvisation”.
In the category “Compostion” the award goes to my friend Niels Klein.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place on october 28th 2011 at the WDR Funkhaus in Cologne, where I will also peform with my new septet.
